You're much safer reinstalling NB.
That said, I'd delete all current device stuff and the unneeded images
database just to avoid problems. Delete all the drives & robot via tpconfig
& set them up again (after setting all the info to identify this as a media
server). This new library needs to be added to the current globdb as the
next library number (and the tapes, eventually).
This should make sure the globdb is correct. You should also check for the
correct global database setting (vmglob -get_dbhost).
There's probably more but this springs to mind immediately.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Transform a Master Server to a Media Server
Hi,
We have a useless 4.5 server that was installed as Master Server. It has a
robot device attached. Let's call it "Server A".
We want to attach it to another Master Server (let's call it "Server B"), so
we plan to move it from Master to Media Server.
We don't care about the current Netbackup Database on "Server A".
Is it sufficent to just add the new master "Server B" at the very begining
of "bp.conf" on "Server A", add "Server A" at the end of "bp.conf" on
"Server B", and start Netbackup on "Server A" to make it a Media Server, or
should I reinstall Netbackup Media Server on "Server A" ?
The idea is to avoid a product reinstallation on "Server A".
thanks.
