Another professional reporting solution which exactly provides what you are
looking for is backupVISUAL (http://www.backupvisual.com). The report with
the green, red and yellows dots is called "Backup Overview Report" - There
is a sample under the section "Screenshots". The Backup Overview Report has
a drill-in function (Client, Policy, Schedule, etc.) down to the exact error
message!
Another possible solution is the Job Report - which gives you a summary of
all jobs during the last day, week, month, quarter etc. Based on the display
option of these report it shows the success, status code, job type and the
total jobs, total data, average throughput per job. These are just a few
options of the different selection, grouping and display possibilities of
this report.
