Hmm. good idea Mark. But that's assuming you can run a backup from the
client side. If you can do that, then this is fairly simple.

Can't the window "search" command be limited by a time range?

If you did your search, you could generate a list of files. Then select all
and hit "properties -> Advanced" Set the archive bit on all the files.

Finally, perform an incremental backup of the NT box. If you're using the
default incremental settings, you'll get all files with the archive bit set.

You'll get some extra stuff, too, but what you want should be part of it.

In the windows world, this isn't easily done. Its no small task to do it on
a UNIX client either, although it can be done through some tricky shell
scripting by building a dynamic list based off of a find command piped into
a for/while - if/then/else loop to check the creation date and modification
date of the files. You can somewhat accomplish this using Cygwin on the
Windows machine. If you aren't familiar with scripting, you may want to get
with someone who is and hash this out - that is - if you can get cygwin
installed on the windows server in question.

Nbu 5.0 mp3 Solaris 9

I have a windows server that we need to backup. But I only need files from a
specific date range like all files since xxxx date. Can this be done? I do
not see this as an option in the backup selections window.

Thanks

Greg
