[Veritas-bu] DB Backup takes too long

Forgive me for opening up a topic which has probably been addressed
already, but here goes...

I have a Solaris 9 master server running NB5.0 MP3 and the Database
backup that takes place when there are no active jobs (backups or
restores) takes about 2 hours to complete.

What would be the best way to reduce the size of this backup?  Or should
I just leave it alone?

PS - also the email that is sent out after the db backup finishes is
extremely large.  Do I need to keep these or can I get rid of them?  If
I don't need them how can I set the application to stop sending them.
