As long as the system allows you to, yes. In my experience, Netbackup tends
to not unlock the file, even after the backup has completed or failed out,
and results in a Windows Error message that says "The file is currently in
use by another application."

I tried deleting one of the .VSP files and it worked. This machine is a
server and cannot be rebooted during business hours. so it is safe to remove
the .VSP files by deleting them?

They can be removed but the only way to do so is to reboot the machine.

You can also control the VSP size in the Netbackup admin console.

NetBackup Management -> Host Properties -> Clients -> boxname -> Windows
Features -> VSP

Justin.

I have 20 very large .VSP files ranging from 60 MB to 210 MB on one of our
Windows 2000 machines. The backups for this machine are now showing 155 -
disk is full errors. Can the .VSP files be removed without causing problems?
