I noticed on a couple Solaris machines with TIR enabled, it
causes many client process errors (50) and (41, network connection
timeouts), but when I disable it, the backups complete successfully.

The way the server was setup is to keep the TIR information for
only a single day, which is quite useless for the most part. Does
anyone have any good or outstanding reasons for using TIR?

The way I currently have most backups laid is as follows:

WEEKLY FULLS
DAILY DIFFERENTIAL-INCREMENTAL (except on FULL DAY)

From the manual, it states:
(check page 87 of the unix manual) (the pic wouldn't fit)

Ultimately, using TIR seems like it provides the best "sync" for
the end-user, in that he or she does not have to re-delete files that
they have already deleted, but since the information in my configuration
is only kept for a day, that probably does not merit using it at all,
does it?
