WAC (Windows Administrative Client) is my choice as well!
Works great and I have very few if any errors!

I use the Windows NetBackup Administration Console installed on one of
my Windows media servers. I have very few errors with it on 4.5 or 5.1.
My master servers are Solaris 8.

The Windows GUI looks nicer in 5.1 than 4.5, but I found that deleting a
lot of jobs causes the 5.1 (and MP3) monitor in Windows to crash.
For the Java GUI, it looks relatively the same.
Although I never experienced the errors you have with either 4.5MP6 or
5.1MP3a.

We have always had a lot of minor NetBackup GUI issues (Java GUI) such
as jobs not showing updated status, device monitor not updating, device
monitor showing different tape numbers, etc.. I could go on and on..
Last week it go worse, as the operators sent me a screen shot of a job
they showed ended with an error status code/message, while I saw the
same job on my Activity Monitor as ending with a successful status
code/message.
Now, as long as I have been using NetBackup, the GUI has sucked, and
probably will always suck, as far as general reporting issues like this
is concerned.
We are currently on 4.5 FP6 and are planning our upgrade soon to 5.1
MP3.
We were hoping just to go straight to 6.0 but I think we will have to
wait a bit...
Anyways, my question is, is the GUI any better/worse after upgrading
from 4.5 to 5.x? I imagine the upgrade fixes some issues but some
others just take their place.
