I'd be really surprised if you can use FlashBackup with an HPUX master
and a Windows client with the 3.4 releases.  We had a *lot* of problems
with a Solaris master and Windows clients right through the 4.5 releases
and it's finally appearing to be stable with 5.0MP5.

Have you verified that what you're trying to do is even supposed to work
(it's obviously not supported since you're back on 3.4).
