Thanks. I agree. Their licensing and the way they do it is bad. Way to
complicated but I guess it is designed to make the most money? Their
competition (like commvault) does a better job in this area...

You can export or save the license information to a plain text file,
this is done via the license key manager in the gui.

However, this is of almost no use since NetBackup licensing is crazy.

A client license key may be for one or more clients but this is not
recorded in netbackup anywhere. All you get is "Feature: Additional
clients (Active)" but you have no way of telling how many clients are on
a particular key. You must refer back to the pdf or paper version of the
license.

I have a single server key which has "quantity = 2". So I must put the
same key on two different netbackup servers. I have a single key for 8
clients and some of those clients are on one netbackup server, some on
another, so I must put the same client license key on both servers
again.

Worse - give veritas the key and they wont be able to tell you what they
are for. You have to give the the purchase order number - more info from
paper/pdf copy.
