I've got a machine here running Microsfot Advanced Directory Application
Mode (MS-ADAM)
some sort of stand alone x500 directory service.....not 100% familiar
with the thing.
=20
I can't find any info on it.
I did a full backup of all_local_drives + system_state and looking at
the image, the system state does not have an "Active directory"
component like my domain controllers do, so I don't believe I can
restore it the same way either.
=20
I tried a regular full system+system_state restore and reboot, but the
service didn't come back, nor did the PKI service that depends on it.
=20
The docs for the product have a section called "backing up and restoring
ADAM" which basically detail how to run the windows NTBackup application
to dump the application "instance" to a flat file, which I could
translate to a command line to be kicked off by bpstart_notify, then
backup the dump and clean up the fallout with bpend_notify.
=20
But I was wondering if there was a "cleaner" way to back it up and
restore it hot.
=20
I can't find any docs online.
