I'm getting phenomenal performance from a NetApp 960 with direct (2Gbit)
fibre attached LTO-2 drives in an ADIC i2000 - database backups average
60-65 MB/s with h/w compression. Watching sysstat on the filer I've seen
writes to a single tape drive above 100 MB/s.
I only have 100 Mbit connectivity to the netapp for passing backup
metadata - it never comes close to saturation.
