There's a "Max Backup Copies" setting in Netbackup. I think v4.5 allows up
to 10 but it will limit you to the preset global value.
Check with "bpconfig -U"
Reset with "bpconfig -max_copies <number>"
-M

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Need to make another copy of an image
Hi everyone,
I'm discovering what might be a "feature" of NBU that I don't necessarily
like. I have an image I want to make another copy of using bpduplicate for
archiving purposes. The original backup job made two copies of the image.
When I try to make a third copy, NBU won't let me because I already have two
copies, and apparently that's some kind of hard upper limit to the number of
copies of an image. I don't see an argument to pass to bpduplicate to force
another copy. When I looked through the archives of this list, I see
someone in 2002 had a similar complaint, and had to go around the problem by
expiring one of the copies of the image he was trying to make an additional
copy of. Will I have to do the same thing on NBU 4.5?
Thanks!
