If they're still within their retention period on those tapes, then the
bplist command should be sufficient.

USAGE: bplist [-A | -B] [-C client] [-S master_server]
      [-t policy_type] [-k policy] [-keyword "keyword phrase"]
      [-F] [-R [n]] [-b | -c | -u] [-l] [-Listpolicy] [-Listseconds]
      [-r] [-T] [-I] [-PI] [-unix_files | -nt_files] [-flops file_options]
      [-s mm/dd/yyyy [HH:MM:SS]] [-e mm/dd/yyyy [HH:MM:SS]] [filename]

Just specify the client & timeframe.

To answer your question more directly, to find the images on a tape use
"bpimmedia". To find the listing of files within an image, use "bpflist".
To find a listing of files on a tape, combine the two commands, first find
the image names, then find the files in the image.

Good morning gang -

I've been asked to compare some data found recently on a hard disk
with some backups of that same server from May of 2002. My thought is that
I have to restore all of those tape images off somewhere and compare the
data, but we don't have the server anymore, and not really the space to
restore the data. Is there any way that I can get a listing of the files in
an image or a tape?

Thanks,

Jennifer
