I am hearing it can be done it 4.5 but only on a windows media server. =
I am told in 5.0 it can be done on both windows and unix media servers. =
The unix media server has the man page for bephyinv (backup exec =
physical inventory) but unfortunately no binary command. This is bad =
for us as we are at 4.5 but all media servers are Unix. Oh well, one =
more reason to upgrade I guess.
=20
Thanks for the response.

Yes you can import and restore backup exec as long as you are on NBU 5.0 =
or
higher.

Any idea if NetBackup can import/read/restore from a Backup Exec tape
image?

We have a small part of our company a few states away that uses backup
exec, and in the case of DR I am wondering if I would have to install
backup exec, or could I just load their tapes and use NetBackup to
import the images.

Thanks,
Taylor
