Folks,

Has anyone else had or seen a problem similar to this one ???

Since transferring a perfectly working STK L700 library from connecting
to a SUN E450 to instead connecting to a newer SUN V880,
we've "lost" connectivity to the robot at least a dozen times (many
more times actually) over three weeks.

Things will be running fine then suddenly all jobs start to back up
and we get the following messages in /var/adm/messages. (We
are running Solaris 9 on the V880) :

tldcd[541]: [ID 498531 daemon.error] user scsi ioctl() failed, may be
timeout, errno = 2, No such file or directory
tldcd[541]: [ID 124506 daemon.error] TLD(2) Mode_sense error, SCSI
INTERFACE ERROR
tldd[529]: [ID 328831 daemon.error] TLD(2) unavailable: initialization
failed: Unable to sense robotic device

We've had SUN replace and move SCSI cards in the V880. Weve had
Storagetek replace all robot related cables and
change some L700 settings but STILL the problem continues to
happen........ STK is scratching their heads.

Any problem assistance/experience would be appreciated !! ... This
thing is driving us nuts !!!

Thanks Much,

Ed Scheef
