If you swapped your catalog tape out in Spetember, then the old catalog tape
can work providing that you have not written over the tape that was used for
the desired backup. Load up Veritas on a backup clien/severe. Bprecover
from the August/September tape that was changed, Check your restore tabs,
Cick of a restore and it will as for whatever tape is needed from tha day.
Also If that tape has not been written over you should be able to import the
entire tape/tapes ?

Good Luck

It sounds like the retention period for these backups may be set to only 1
month and that is why you can not see the file listing. You might want to
check what retention period has been set for that backup policy.

As for restoring the file, you should be able to import the catalogue from
the tape manually using import function in NetBackup and then perform the
restore.

yeah, that's what happens.

| Hello,
|
|
|
| I like to restore a file from September. When I access my catalog I
| don't see any backup from September, it starts from October, I am sure
| that my backup for this server was successful since June. I have not
| changed the catalog tape since August and I should be able to see the
| information and restore it. What should I do to be able to see the
| catalog information from September?
|
|
|
| Thanks
|
