Hey gang.. perhaps a dumb question but I haven't found an answer by
searching the archives..

How does\will the following situation work for duping data backed up to
a virtual tape library?

Situation, I have server A with access to virtual STK 9940b tape drives
thanks to the tape emulator on my disk array and a couple of physical
9940bs.. ServerA sends it's data to the "library" (disk). My problem is
that I don't want the production server doing duplication from virtual
to physical for off siteing.

I am thinking that if I give Server B (who does nothing during the day)
some virtual drives from the same library (disk), I can have him mount
the other guys tape and dupe it from local virtual tape to local
physical 9940bs (not over IP)..

How do you tell netbackup to let the Server B mount a tape created by
Server A for duping purposes? I Looked at things like
"alt_media_restore_host", but those would force ALL operations
(restores) to be mounted on Server B and all data to travel over IP. I
don't want that either.

Let me know if clarification is needed.. I tried to make it simple..

Thanks in advance,
Bobby Walker
