We also have been getting very occasional 174 errors, NB 4.5, Solaris 2.6,
e450s, L700, DLT7000.
Veritas said to check DLT7000 firmware levels but ours are all recent (107 /
109).
Next suggestion is to change the DLT drive string to
"1,0x38,0,0x3D639,4,0x82,0x83,0x84,0x85,2" but I have not had a chance to
try it.  Not convinced about this as from a reading of the st manual it
seems to be changing to disable scsi reserve/release.

We are experiencing 174's ( media manager error) on a master/media server
running
NBU 4.5 with DLT7000 drives.

The server was recently upgraded to new Sun hardware and OS (Solaris 8) -
the
tape drives and library are the same ones used by the old server.

STK L180,  DLT7000 drives.

Has anyone seen this before and have any suggestions ?
