[Veritas-bu] Novell Netware client problems

Hi!

Yes we backup novell to a unix master. We had your problem before, our
solution was to upgrad the backp network from 100Mbs to 1000Mbs.
There are alot of vaules to configure on the netware.

1. Run latest tsafs.nlm
2. You can test your env with something called tsatest.nlm

3. These vaules have we changed:
SYS:/etc/sms/tsa.cfg
Read buffer size:
98340
Read threads per job:
16
Read threads allocation:
100
Read ahead throttle:
4
Cahce memory threshold:
25


If you tune these vaules and then test with the tsatest utility, you can
find the best vaules for your env.
Good luck!

And for the IPX problem: Make your novell admin grant you rights, or =
dont do
any backups for him.
At your place the novell admin creats a backup accont and sets up the
targets on there own, so i dont know the password..
