We are running a Solaris 8 Master/Media server on NBU Enterprise 5.0
MP3. We have three Novell Netware 6 SP3 clients (among others).

Is anyone else using NBU on Unix to back up Netware clients?

We are having two problems. The first is performance. Unix clients
back up at approximately 40GB/hr while the Netware clients back up at
approx. 4GB/hr. This is unacceptable due to the size of the Netware
volumes. I was hoping someone had a solution to speed this up. The
netware volumes are sitting on a SAN, not on the local machine.

Secondly, it appears there is no way to do non-target backups and
restores to netware without having IPX enabled and Veritas is ending
support for this. We would like to initiate backups and restores from
somewhere other than the target Netware system as the Novell admin
doesn't want to give rights to the netware boxes to the backup admin
(me). Is there some other way to run non-target backups and restores
to a netware system without IPX?

Thanks.
