Hi all,
Storagetek ask to do this, but Tim is right.
This parameter must be set when you want to wait for dismount =
cartridges
only when an user operation is done (schedule backup are not imply).
This is useful when a lot of manual backups are launched during a day =
and
you don't want to wait for unmount and mount delay, a cartridge load of =
DLT
is very painful ... ;)

There is no such parameter.
However, what they are referring to is the MEDIA_UNMOUNT_DELAY.
This has NOTHING to do with how long to wait for the tape rewind and
EVERYTHING to do with how long to wait BEFORE issuing an 'mt offline' =
to the
device.
Don't forget that the MEDIA_UNMOUNT_DELAY ONLY applies to user =
operations.
So unless you are running lots of user directed backups (db extensions =
for
example), this parameter isn't going to do anything anyway.
If you want more info, contact VERITAS Support, they'd be happy to =
share
their information with you regarding this.
