MessageI've been using the following command:

\veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd\bpexpdate.exe -d 0 -m <mediaid> -host =
<hostname>

where:
<mediaid> is the media ID from the media library
<hostname> is the computer housing that media ID

We've got one master server, and one media server, and I have to try it =
on both to get it to deassign sometimes. However, before you get too =
far, you should note that I'm only running NetBackup 4.5, although it is =
on Win2003. If you successfully deassign a volume, it will list in the =
Media Log report as:

media id <mediaid> removed from media manager database (manual deassign)

It will then automatically relocate the volume in media manager to your =
scratch volume set.
