On netbackup 4.5MP6 I only get the option for linux 2.3 or 2.4. Is there a
patch that will let me select linux 8 or 9?

Yup.  On 6.x, 7.x, and RHEL 3.  Well tested yesterday when we toasted one of
our systems and had to rebuild from scratch (no BMR licenses here).
