NetBackup only uses six characters of a bar code.  NetBackup allows you to 
choose which six characters to use (as long as you're at version 3.4.1 or 
higher).  Next to the bar code rules tab when inventorying a robot is the 
"Media ID Generation" tab.  That's where you tell NetBackup how many 
characters there are on your bar codes and which six characters you want to 
use (in your case, probably the first six).
