Yes and no.

Netbackup just matches tape type & drive type. If they had a designation
for "Bob"-type tapes, and the drives were "Bob" and the tapes were "Bob"
it'd work just fine. HCART & HCART2 are provided that you might mix LTO1 &
LTO2 tapes in the same environment. If you started with just LTO2 and
designated everything as HCART type tapes & drives it'd work just fine.
When LTO3 comes out, you'd be able to use HCART2 to mix & match both types
in the same environment.

NB doesn't really care what kind of drive/tape it is. That's the OS & the
OS-driver's job.

LTO2 is hcart2 specifically. But the robot type may be DLT.

I've just installed an Overland NEO 4100 tape library (HP-LTO2 drives).
During NetBackup device configuration, it asked for drive type and the
options were ½ cartridge, 8mm cartridge, DLT cartridge, DTF cartridge and
unknown. Am I supposed to use DLT? Should there be a drive type for LTO2?
If yes, what do I need to do to get drive type LTO2 to show up?

Thanks for you help!
Ken
