Hello Ysbrand,
This was a snip from the NBU master bpcd log.
We had found that an additional alias for the Windows media server had been
set up, of which the master server did not know of.
Once that was corrected the backups would run again.
We are also experiencing slow backup throughput from just the Teradata
nodes..
Our Windows media server is NBU 4.5 MP6 with arcmain configured on it.
Nothing of Veritas has been installed on the Teradata nodes.
The backup is initiated from arcmain which initiates the backup of 2 nodes
by the NBU media server.
This is over a dedicated Gig. Backup network to HP LTO2 drives but we are
getting 4 to 5 Meg a sec throughput.
All other clients that this media server backs up, on this network, are 14
to 30 Meg a second. (Depending on the data)
Other throughput testing done between the media server and the Teradata
nodes, on this network, showed very good results.
Arcmain to Veritas causing a slow down? Not sure where to look as it slowly
completes successfully.
Any thoughts?

I'm not completely sure which log we are looking at. As far as I can
determine the job failed to start up the arcmain process on the Teradata
node. There are a lot of possible reasons.
First thing should be to check the dbclient log on both the admin client as
well as the Teradata node.
