[Veritas-bu] slow backup on windows version 3.4ga

We have a unix server (media attached) with solaris 8 the client is a
windows 2000.
Making ftp betwen both servers copying files of 500megas we have a 7000kb/s
rate, but a normal backup takes up to 13 hours (2 gigas) has somebody
experience with something like this ?
