I agree with Jeff, if you can get the funding for CYA, go with that 
solution.  If you are unfortunate to be in a company that cannot or will 
not pay the price for it, you can come up with ways to limit the 
possibilities of inconsistencies in your backups using just about any 
backup software.  I am using NetBackup to back up my Documentum Docbases 
and Data Stores.

CYA is the recommended and supported single file restore software for
Documentum.  You can use NBU but you won't have a guarantee of data
consistency within the file store itself.

It is a must for a full-blown Documentum install.

I wanted to see if anyone else was using Documentum (enterprise content
mgmt software) and how they were able to backup the system.  Did you use
NetBackup or another product?  If NetBackup, does it work well with
Documentum?  Are there any sources of information on how to get them to
play together?  Do you have your files/repository on a SAN or NAS?
