Does anyone know what the NDMP MTIO operation is for

Veritas is logging the following error in response to an unsupported 
NDMP_MTIO_EOM (10)  operation returned by an NDMP based tape service:

The NDMP compliant tape server I am using does not support this MTEOM 
operation and I cannot find any documentation on it either in the NDMP 
specs nor veritas tech notes.

Any help about this operation and how to work around this error will be 
great.
