Since upgrading to NetBackup 5.0 (Solaris) we're seeing an occasional sporadic
problem with our Windows backups, and before I open a support ticket, I thought
I'd ask here first. What happens is sometimes the backup job seems to hang or
pause in the middle. It doesn't generate an error or anything, it still shows
as an "active" job in the GUI, but it stops making any forward progress, and
will just remain "frozen" until I cancel the job. If I start one manually, it
usually finishes fine, and out of the 50 servers or so we backup, this only
happens on 2-3 per night, and it's not always the same boxes, and some nights
there are no problems. I'm hoping this is something simple, but I haven't
figured out what it could be yet. Does anyone have any insight? I'm new on the
job, and not a very skilled NetBackup admin yet, but I'm going to training on it
in less than a month. :D
Thanks in advance!
