Hi Jason,

I've seen backups running at 30Mb/sec+ on STK 9940 and LT0 drives and
regularly get 15Mb/sec+ on my STK9840B drives here, especially on SQL and
Oracle db backups.

I'm not sure what you mean by Veritas SAN solutions? Do you mean the
Netbackup Shared Storage Option (SSO)using SAN Media Servers? That's what I
have here and it generally works well. 28 tape drives shared between 40
Media Servers all over the SAN, with 30 of those having SAN disk attached as
well.

Have a look at http://searchstorage.techtarget.com/ There's some good info
there.

Cheers - Tim

Hello,

I am investigating Fibre San solutions for our backups. I was wondering
if anyone has information on performance given a setup of this nature.

I have only seen documentation up until this point for Veritas San
Solutions, and some benefits, however benchmarks don't exist in the
document, and I haven't found any around the WWW.

We are looking to move into a Fibre Network with Fibre Drives.

Thank,
Jason
