With full duplex you can pretty much reach the bandwidth of 100BaseT
12.5MB/sec both for send and receive traffic. So in the case of a restore
going through the same NIC as a backup and you are running a master/media
server in half duplex mode you're throttling your bandwidth. I.E. your can
reach approximately 11Mbytes/sec for your backup and if in full duplex
11Mbytes/sec for the restore. If half-duplex the backup and restore will run
approximately 6Mbytes/sec each, effectively slowing down each job. Your
mileage will vary on the actual numbers.
