I have the following NetBackup environment that I am trying to
re-architect and wanted to get some advice from others who might have
similar issues.

Current Environment: (Both environments co-exist in the same physical
location)

1. Environment A: NBU v4.5 (WIN2K) 1 Master/Media 1 Media with
single library shared between the two servers) AIT Media (Currently
backing up data on some network clients but primarily used to backup
data on the two Media Servers)

2. Environment B: NBU v3.4 (WIN2K) 1 Master/Media with single
library (AIT Media) Using NDMP Option to backup single NetApp filer.

The goal is deploy a new Single Master/Media server with a much larger
library with LTO Media to backup both environments. (Using SAN & SSO)

We'd also like to be able continue to access the old backup images on
the old servers for approximately 6 months.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Install new Master Media server and library and SSO.
2. Use SSO to share drives between the former Media Servers in
Environment A & the Filer.
3. Use GDM to manage all three environments but stop using two
existing servers for any backup activity.
4. Eventually there will be more servers added to the mix that a re
currently backed up over the network using Backup Exec. =20

I'm aware that there are licensing issues here. Any suggestions would
be most appreciated.
