This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

I always mount a tape using=20
=20
         tpreq -rv $EVSN -d dlt -a w -p $DUP_POOL -f $EVSN =20
# NOTE 5.0 tpreq now uses -m for media id instead of -ev or -rv #
# Backup Databases here
         echo "Backing up NBU Databases"
# Write the NetBackup database to tape
         bpbackupdb -v -tpath $EVSN $DBPATH
=20
Remember if you do it this way, you run the risk of some DB files being
opened during your backup. The best way to back it up is to let NBU
handle the backup OR the second best way is to ensure no backup jobs are
running, stop the request daemon (bprdreq -terminate), run your backup
and then restart the request daemon (initbprd). =20
=20
These commands should all work the same in the 2000 OS as well (pretty
sure...), you may want to verify tpreq on W2K.

How can I get the bpbackupdb command to pull from a volume pool of tapes
in a Windows 2000 environment? I do not have Vault so will the command
by default pull the two tapes that are configured in the catalog GUI
screen?
Netbackup 4.5.3=20
Windows 2000 SP 3=20
Thank you for your help!=20
