No, once you are on the FP road you can never go back to the MP road. You
can move from the MP road to the FP road if you start out that way but once
you do it means you can never go back to MP's again.

This is a dumb approach. If I choose to go the FP route and get all the
features I want, then can I just start going to MP's?

For example, lets say I need a feature in FP6 but after that I don't want
anymore features. Can I just start using MP7 when it comes out?

Difference is whether or not you want new features along with bug fixes.
Some environments have security issues and once they get a product locked
down they want no new features inserted into the environment that may affect
their security. Hence the MP line, bug fixes only.

The FP line includes new features, like DAR for NDMP (FP3). So the choice,
at least initially, depends on your environment. But once you choose you're
stuck on that path, so choose wisely...

FP's ?

patches and downloaded MP6.

Im just wondering do now need FP6 is MP a replacement what?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Dave
