I am not sure that I completely understood, what are you trying to do ..
but anyway in order to use -R option within bprestore command, you need
prepare rename file as described in bprestore man page:
------------------------------------------
-R rename_file
Specifies the name of a file with name changes for alternate-path
restores.
Use the following form for entries in the rename file:
change backup_filepath to restore_filepath
------------------------------------------
So If you want to restore /platform to alternate path, rename file will
include:
change /platform to /mnt/platform
=20
By running bprestore /platform, you have destroyed your kernel ...:(

        Howdy All,

        =20

Has anyone ever tried restoring a root partition

using Netbackup? I've jumped the disk (disk0), then put

another disk in (disk1) and did a ufsdump & ufsrestore to

replicate the jumped O/S disk to disk1. Then added the=20

        installboot to disk1.

        =20

Next, I install veritas netbackup client to disk0, then tried

doing a restore to the mounted disk1 on /mnt.

        =20

I used the following command as an example to try

        and restore individual directories:

        =20

        bprestore -B -R /mnt /platform

        =20

Instead it loaded /platform to disk0 causing the system to

        crash and me to rejump.

        =20

Any advice on this would be helpful.

        =20

        Thanks...James
