Hi

=20

Master / Media server - Windows with Netbackup 4_5_6M

Media server - AIX 4.3.3 with Netbackup 4.5_6M.=20

2 x LTO drives that can be seen by both servers.

=20

The AIX server can see 2 LTO drives. They are there when we do a
tpautoconf -t and when we check for them on device monitor. They come up
as TLD control. However, as soon as a backup starts and it allocated one
of the drives, this drive disappears from the system. If you do a
tpautoconf -t, you can only see the one drive that is not in use. If we
run the "scan" command, there is only one drive and it is not the one
that is being used. The backup however continues to run. When the backup
completes and we do our scans for the drives, then both are back again.
Sometimes the drive does not come back.=20

=20

Can somebody explain why this happens and how we can prevent the drives
from disappearing on AIX?
