Hi once again, 

 

Probably a silly question but I thought I'd ask so I can test tomorrow, when
restoring the image is the boot.ini file visible in the restore image so
that it can be excluded?

Imran,

 

I would try the basic CD first.  Also, when configured and the restore is
about to begin, do a manual restore and exclude the boot.ini, NTDetect, and
NTLoader files from the System_State restore.  By doing this I have had a
lot of success.  HTH and Good Luck.

I am trying test IDR on a Win2k machine 

 

When using the bootable image I get the following error after the stage
where you say install on the C:\ partition

 

"Following Value in SIF file used by set-up is corrupted or missing"

"Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDiskFile] with key Sp4 cab" set up
cannot continue

 

.. The server was win2k SP4, when creating the bootable image one has to
insert the Win2k installation CD to copy files on to the bootable image, is
there any issues with using a win2k CD with SP4 or should one use a win2k
only CD and the SP4 will be restored from tape as part of the image

 

any advice would be appreciated
