[Veritas-bu] netbackup info

For #1, how about "vmquery -w -rn <robnum> | awk '{print $1}'
if by "inventory a robotic library" you mean read the contents of the
library. To update the inventory of the library I'd use "vmupdate" with a
bunch of options.
For the second one, I guess the short answer is "tpconfig" - assuming the OS
knows about the drive already.

Hi all
I have a question:
1) What command line utility would you use to inventory a robotic
library?
my answer is Robtest ?
2)Pick an OS (Solaris, AIX or Windows) and explain how you would
configure a tape drive to NetBackup.
My answer : It depends, if there are no device in server and you want
to configure the first device:
First step: Find the device address:
Unix : sgscan for find the device address
NT: use Device Map to find device address
Second step: configure the first tape device :
Unix & NT : tpconfig
3 nd step: start ltid daemon
4 nd step: Add the remaining device drivers:
Unix: xdevadm (bring up the dev admin menu to add the dice driver) ->
highlight & click the drive -> Add drive
NT: VMVolume.exe -> Media Server -
Tape drive -> New
If the tape drive exist and you want add more the tape drive:
Unix: xdevadm (bring up the dev admin menu to add the dice driver) ->
highlight & click the
drive -> Add drive
NT: VMVolume.exe -> Media Server - Tape drive -> New
also: on the netbackup win2000 is it different winNT ?
Anyone know about it, please let me know, thanks.
Regards
Tom
