I am having issues with Windows 2000 client installations. On both local
and remote installations, once the install is complete, I reboot the system
and all appears fine. The issue pops up when somebody launches an MSI
installation package on a client. Admins get a pop-up message stating that
a NetBackup installation is pending and that it will need to be backed out
to continue with their installation. If they say yes, it promptly
uninstalls the NBU client and reboots the system. This is obviously a pain!

The big problems come up when administrators use Terminal Services, which is
always wanting to install Webfldrs.msi upon login. Because webfldrs.msi
installs during login, before the user's explorer session starts, there is
no pop-up warning. Webfldrs simply uninstalls the NBU client and reboots
the system, which is terribly inconvenient in my Production environment.

I have a ticket open with Veritas on this, but I was wondering if anybody
else has seen similar behavior. It appears that the installations are not
properly releasing MSI back to Windows. Any help would be appreciated.

Andrew
