Mark,
Due to the wide variety of configuration architecture, multi library's,
multi OS's, and all the variables that can be thrown into this mix
(software/hardware wise) that Veritas netbackup supports I guess not yet.
Everyone that I've dealt with has scripted something to check to see if
there are any tapes in the loadport and number of tapes, check if this
exceeds the number of empty slots, then if that criteria is met go ahead and
inject the tapes and update veritas using the following command:
(If memory serves me correctly)

vmupdate -empty_ie -rn 0 -use_barcode_rules

I don't know about release 5 yet.

Anyone else?

Anybody know where I can find some info on Netbackup's ability to
automatically update the library inventory when new tapes are manually
inserted via the CAP?

I've been googling, pdf-searching, and otherwise html-ing about the world &
the Veritas site and can't find nothin'.
