[Veritas-bu] excessive bpsched logging in 4.5 MP5

Logging this extensively will slow your backup performance. You probably
should only use level 5 logging if you're troubleshooting a specific
problem.
That being said, my eyeball estimate of our v4.5 bpsched logs is ~5G apiece
with non-verbose logging.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] excessive bpsched logging in 4.5 MP5
Hi all,
I wanted to pose a question to the list regarding
a logging behavior I am experiencing since upgrading to MP5.
I am running Solaris 2.6 master server and have had
VERBOSE = 5 logging enabled in bp.conf. After patching
to 4.5 MP5 from 4.5 MP3, I started getting bpsched log files
that fill the to 2Gig filesize limit nightly.
I reduced the logging level of bpsched to 0 by
replacing the following lines in bp.conf and gave the daemons
a restart for good measure. However the problem still exists.
So I suppose my questions are:
Has anyone had experience with this same issue?
Can anyone say definitively if the per process logging
level specifications work?
Thanks in advance,
ray
VERBOSE = 5
with
BPDBM_VERBOSE = 5
BPRD_VERBOSE = 5
BPSCHED_VERBOSE = 0
BPBRM_VERBOSE = 5
BPTM_VERBOSE = 5
BPDM_VERBOSE = 5
VAULT_VERBOSE = 5
