I was but the catalog backups have been overwritten by subsequent backups.

I found that the mirror of the old root drive were still available. We
booted to the old mirror and the /usr & /opt filesystems were available. I
then started NB and used "bpmedia -movedb" to transfer the media database.

I got lucky.

you weren't backing up the media server mediaDB with your catalog backups?
if so, bprecover.

if not, file system backup is probably you're best shot.

Crud - the enthusiastic admins in my remote environment just "remade" my one
media server without checking with me. The entire OS has been reloaded, all
the previous disks are gone. The server was one of four SSO media servers.
The media DB is gone.

What now?

Does the "bpmedia -movedb" command work if the source DB is out? I'm going
to guess "no".

I've got regular OS backups, done through another media server, so I could
do a file recovery, that should include the /usr/openv directory, to another
server. Useful?
