I'm not sure what you are asking, but if you want to list what is on the 
tape, use bprecoverdb -l option. As far as the original problem try the 
command that has the option -rereadconfiguration in bin/admincmd. sorry 
don't remember the actual command something like bpadreq or near that. The 
-help option on any command in that directory should help.
