I've seen a lot 13's with HP/Compaq nics using HP/Compaq drivers with
HP/Compaq adapter teaming - both windows and linux (adapter bonding). If
you run this configuration on your master or media servers, try Intel
drivers (most of their nics are just rebranded Intel's) and either break the
team or use the Intel teaming. Clients seem to work fine either way.

Also have your network team check for FCS errors on the switches.

That's what did the trick for me.

I just fixed my 13 error.

The nic was at 100 full the switch was at 100 full. The driver was at latest
HP levels.

I simply did this. Moved the lan cable to the second nic, set up that nic
exactly like the other one and it fixed my problem. Even though the unused
nic was disabled when I was using the other one, microsoft must see them?

Try changing nics. Worked for me.

Hello Kris

Check the netcard setting/configuration the client and the net switch is
connected to, a lot of our status codes 13, have been caused by different
setting and/or auto-negation.

The rule of thumb in our backup group is that auto-negation is bad.

Are you backup running through a fire-wall, if it is it could be time-out in

the fire-wall that's creating this error.

Regards
Michael
