hi 
the backup is run only after the db shutdown. it is
taken care already.

Now, for the last 3 days there is no drop down in
transfer rate and the backup is going well as
expected.  Actually, what I did is as follows:

The backup time was high for only 2 file
systems(oracle database).  So, what I did is I ran
fsck on these file system, so, now the backup time is
as expected.  

But, I am afraid, this drop down in transfer rate of
backup will crop up again.  Is there any glitch in
database file system itself?  I don't know.
