Hello everyone,
I just wanted to get a quick sanity check on plans for an upcoming D/R drill
for our site, primarily looking at the recovery utilizing NetBackup. This
will be our first drill since we switched to utilizing NetBackup.

Current Configuration:
E15K server with 5 domains running Solaris 8
Domain D is running NetBackup 3.4 Datacenter as the
Master/Media server attached to an L60 (6 drive LTO auto-loader)
Domain A is the production domain that we will be recovering
to at D/R site
Original tapes are shipped off-site (no need to worry about
restoring from duplicates)
D/R Configuration:
E6500 server (Server A) running Solaris 8 (we are only
recovering one of the domains from the 15K)
Server A will be the only server and will have 2 stand alone
LTO drives attached to it
Will be bringing tapes associated with last 2 weeks full
backups

The steps regarding the NetBackup installation and recovery that we are
looking to follow are as follows:
1. After system is up and running with clean version of Solaris,
install NetBackup Datacenter and configure devices
2. import tapes to be utilized for restores
3. restore files needed to complete D/R Drill

I just want to make sure that, given the different architecture (E15K with
attached auto-loader vs E6500 with stand-alone drives), importing the tapes
would make more sense than trying to restore the NetBackup catalogs. It
also, hopefully will resolve the different hostnames for the Master/Media
servers in the two configurations.

Also, does anybody have an idea how long it will take to import a full LTO
(100/200) tape?

Thanks for your advice,
-mt
