Some questions:

What OS are you using?

Are you using SSO?  If another media server that sees that drive is
having problems accessing the drive, it will cause the drive to be down
on all media servers (at least with NBU 3.4).

Have you tried to access the drive some other way such as by doing an mt
status against the drive?
