When attempting to restore a large (100GB) file from tape I get the
following error and am unable to restore the file.
10:55:39 7/8/2003: Restore Started
10:55:42 (85180.xxx) Restore job id 85180 will require 1 image.
10:55:42 (85180.xxx) Media id 100602 is needed for the restore.
10:55:42 (85180.xxx) Media id 100911 is needed for the restore.
10:55:43 (85180.xxx) Media id 100703 is needed for the restore.
10:55:47 (85180.001) Status of restore from image created Fri Jun 27
02:35:21 2003 = cannot connect to server backup restore manager
10:55:47 (85180.001) /\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/folder_name/file_name was not
restored.
10:55:47 (85180.xxx) INF - Status = the restore failed to recover the
requested files.
I am running NetBackup DataCenter 3.4
Solaris 2.6 master server
Win2K media server
The file in question is a Microsoft .bkf file that lives on a NetApp N.A.S.
device. It is a straight Veritas backup (not NDMP), and we have tried
restoring to several locations (local drive on the media server, original
location, alternate N.A.S. location, alternate server, etc...).
I can restore other files from the same backup (same tapes), but this file
will not restore. I have tried multiple dates with the same results.
Have any of you encountered this error before? Any suggestions?
