Amlaw,

If you have connected the L9 onto the onboard SCSI interface on the E3000 that
is not a differential
interface. You will need a differential card in one of the I/O Board SBus
slots.

bpstart_notify is a client side script. On unix it needs to be copied into
the /usr/openv/netbackup/bin directory on the client.

The policy.schedule notations as noted by Larry below is Case Sensitive.

so
                        bpstart_notify.mssrv2_clearcase.full
is different than
                        bpstart_notify.mssrv2_clearcase.Full

Make sure there are NO spaces in the class/policy name or Schedule names.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Licenses and actual platform instaled.

Hi..

The bussines department ask me how many licenses I was used in my
platform . In my enviroment there are some servers with , Windows,Linux,
Unix , Exchange, Lotus, SAN Media Servers, etc... and probably 1 hundred of
licenses .... but . How can I know the number of different licenses used??

    There some script or command...

Thanks.

### SPANISH ###

Hola.

Gracias.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Merging NetBackup catalogs ?

Has anybody ever merged two NetBackup catalogs successfully? I can't find
an option in bprecover to merge and not overwrite all my volume
information. I'm not looking forward to importing each tape manually, if
that's what it comes too. Any ideas?

Phil

Not really the right group but I'd drop the sun box to the bios & experiment
with the "probe-scsi-all" command. I sound's like you have a scsi conflict
or perhaps a bad scsi device. Try the simple stuff first, a new terminator,
a new cable, etc.

To probe the scsi bus from the bios:

setenv auto-boot? false
reset-all
probe-scsi-all

when you're done testing, set auto-boot? back to "true".

Subject: [Veritas-bu] MS Exchange client - exit status 71

Yesterday I upgraded my MS - Exchange client from NB3.4 with patch J0850645 to
NB3.4.1_5.
I did this to try and clear up some exit status 13 problems. Now that I have
applied the
3.4.1_5 patch I am now getting the 71 errors from:
Microsoft Information Store:\First Storage Group (fails with FS_NOT_FOUND)
Microsoft Exchange MailBoxes:\ (fails with FS_ACCESS_DENIED)

This problem is only with the exchange class, normal file backups on this
server work fine.
I have doubled checked the file list settings and they have not changed from
prior to the
patch install.

Details:
Win2k server (Exchange)
Solaris 8 (NB 3.4.3 - Server)

Here is the business part of the logs:
